Halloween Costumes

I took the kids out trick or treating this year and this time it was different. I had two boys & one girl instead of two girls & one boy. My oldest one got a hair brain idea to dress up as a man this year. Boy, did she pull it off good. She dressed up as Billy Mays and looked the part. She got lots of attention and everyone thought she was a boy. It was so funny. My Son was the Terminator and my little one was a cute witch. Madison stayed in her stroller most of the time because it was just to hard to take her up to each door. She didn't get what was going on and just wanted to go inside each house anyhow. Ha! Next year she'll have more fun. Plus, it was cold so we didn't want to be out long. The kids went with their friends/cousins and all got a lot of candy. I thought Brittany was too big to go trick or treating but she did it anyways. People still gave her candy and didn't say anything about her age. I guess enjoy it as long as you can before you are the one watching and pushing a stroller. :)

Projects

I added a little zebra stripe ribbon to the bottom of Maddie's pants for some added design this Halloween. Then I added some bling and bedazzeled it along the edge for some sparkle. I think it turned out cute.

Then I used pumpkin molds and poured plaster inside. One for each child to paint for Halloween. I helped with maddies of course. This stuff sets up really quick so I didn't get a chance to add their handprint to the back. I will have to do that with cement next time. They loved painting them. All very different and unique I would say.

Madison's

Jared's

Brittany's

I guess Brittany's pumpkin is bleeding and got shot or something. I don't know what this teenager is thinking these days?? Ha!

That's it for the projects around here for now. Christmas is coming, so they'll sure be some more coming my way.

More Halloween Decorations

Here are just a few more Halloween decorations I put around the house. I made the wreath because you can't find a good scary one at the store. It's going on my front door Halloween night. The other stuff I do to entertain the kids. I sprinkle some fun here and there. I hope they look back one day and draw good memories from it. :)

Happy October

I did a little decorating this year. Not as much as last, but it's a start. I'm a bit busy to really go all out this time around. I have set out a few Fall reminders that Halloween is almost here.

In my kitchen, Candy in my glass pumpkin jar.

I let the kiddo's decorate small pumpkins with crazy felt faces. Much easier then carving them.

These pictures remind me of the haunted mansion. I love how they change when you look at them from a different angle.

Thats not all folks, I've got more to show. Just don't have the pictures yet. More to come. I'd thought I'd give you a preview for now.

Little Punk

This little girl of mine was all attitude when I put on her sisters Halloween wig. She wore it for the longest time and it was the funniest thing ever. She looked so old with all that hair. Hannah Montana watch out. There is a new rock star diva in town.

Halloween Night

Here are the kids dressed up to go Trick or Treating. They went with a couple of their Cousins this year. Brittany was dressed up as a Punk Rock Princess in an outfit I made. All but the tights, because we wanted something original this year. (She got lots of compliments on the pretty colors by the way). Jared was a Marine in real cammies we purchased from base. He just loves dressing like his Dad and it made him feel like GI Joe. Maddie has a onesie that looks like the digital cammies so I thought it would be cute if she was dressed up like a baby Marine for a picture. She didn't leave the house like that though. She went as a pink leopard. I choose this outfit because of the pretty colors and it was really warm. It was a cold night to be out in. About 50 degree's and sprinkling rain. So I bundled the baby up as best as I could. The older ones would not wear a jacket to save their life. Even after all my demands to put one on, they would not because it would cover up their costume. We stayed out for about an hour and a half before returning home to dump their bags. The offical trading of the candy began and they made out pretty well. Brittany got a package of Top Ramin noodles from a house that she stopped at. It happened to be her music teacher from school that was giving the older kids, (middle schoolers as she said) funny food rather then candy. I guess to be funny or to tell them they are too old to be trick or treating. Brittany was suppose to just go out walking with us, but then started running up to the doors when she saw other kids her age doing it as well. Maybe this will be her last year to get the candy. I don't know if she'll have the nerve to do it in high school. I think she'll start getting dirty looks from the neighbors. LOL Anyhow, it was a fun night. We saw a lot of great costumes. It makes me want to get a jump start on next years. I have more tutu's to make and things to sew.
