Since I never got around early to posting some pictures of my Son's Indiana Jones birthday party, then I'm going to update this blog with pictures from that big day. It was a lot of fun and I hope my ideas will help another plan a great Indy party for their child.

The Party Tableware that I used.

I started out weeks in advance by decorating the basement with lots of Halloween decorations and making a lot of stuff by hand. I also worked on setting up stations where kids could go on an Indy hunt to find clues. This was the entrance to the basement that led to the Mummy Room, Crocodile Creek, Hanger 51 and the Snake Pit.
The Spider Cave Tunnel! I used a long wardrobe moving box, decorated with webs, netting and plastic spiders. The kids would have to crawl through this to the other side to obtain a clue.
I made my own torches too for the kids to light their way if they wanted during the adventure. I used paper towel cardboard rolls, spray painted grey. Added orange & red tissue papers at one end and some clear cello to make it look flame like. Cheap and easy prop.
One part of my basement was made to look more tropical for Crocodile Creek. I found a place to hang up a Indiana Jones poster as if the big man himself was watching over us.
The clue cards I made up from some scrap paper. I hid them at each activity station. The kids had to find one of these clues to lead them to the next one.
You can't see the bowls filled with beetle guts and eyeballs here, but imagine a table set up with bowls of gross food for the kids to sink their hands into. (Eyeballs were wet grapes, Monkey brains was cold speggetti, and Beetle guts was a mixture of dates/rasins)
The Mummy Wrap Game! Here's my Son being wrapped up really well. Everyone had to unroll toliet paper in order to find the clue hidden inside.
Another game I had was using these foams planes. Each kid tossed them into a target I had set up. The last plane had a clue written on it that lead them to the treasure chest.
The games and treasure hunt led to this chest where the kids opened it to find the Crystal Pinata Skull.
It was a rainy day so we had to break the pinata open indoors. We tied it up to my husbands pull up bar and let the kids take turns swinging at it.
This is what we saw after the candy fell out.
The kids used their explorer bags that I found at the Dollar Tree to collect the candy and toys I filled it with.
Poor Skully, he sure had a headache after taking such a beating.
Time for some Indiana Jones Cake!
I decorated the food tables with lots of Indy style hat's and rubber snakes, spiders.
I order a Subway 4 foot sub for our guests and added some olives, fruit by the foot snacks for a tongue to make it look like a snake on our table.
The party ended with my Son opening lots of nice presents. We were really greatful for all he received.
The guests went home with one of these treat bags. I made them outta brown paper bags, cut out a window so you could see the candy and bugs inside, then added a small rubber snake to the outside with some Indy stickers.
Everyone had a great time and I got lots of compliments on all my hardwork. So it was worth the extra effort and special touches. I thank all those other bloggers I gained ideas and inspiration from. I don't think I could've planned this party without their valuable pictures and projects they posted for Mom's like me to borrow from. So a big thank you to anyone who also had an Indiana Jones party recently.
